Melbourne has undergone a tremendous war. As a result, bombs have carved out the land to create an entirely different landscape. Lincoln Square had a bomb dropped near the center, pushing the land outwards to create two large land forms in the north-west and south-east corners. This has rotated the main axis of movement to the threshold which lies diagonally across the site, connecting the north to the south.

The hills create a spatial hierarchy which is used to facilitate discussion and political activism. This hierarchy also allows for surveillance of the
land, ensuring safety.

The pavilion functions as a public speaking platform, an enclosed learning environment, and a sloped and shaded discussion space. The design is aimed to promote communication at various scales, allowing political and social ideas to spread.
